Finote Democracy

                  THE VOICE OF ETHIOPIAN UNITY

Since early January 2000, a new and increasingly popular radio program (Program) has been broadcasting twice a week, Sundays and Wednesdays to Ethiopia, and neighboring countries in Amharic, Ethiopia's working language.  The popularity of the program is gauged on the basis of the increasing number of supportive comments the Program receives from Ethiopia and the Diaspora (the Program may also be heard through the Internet at (http://www.finote.org/).

The following are the main goals of the Program:

to help build a democratic and united Ethiopia where no one will be discriminated on the basis of gender, ethnicity, etc.,

to help establish the rule of law; and

to help in the fight for social and economic justice;

to enshrine human rights, and

to help bring about the equal treatment before the law of Ethiopia's nationalities.

We invite you all to listen to the Program if you have not already started so.  We are confident that patriotic and open-minded Ethiopian would like the Program.  After listening to the Program, please make sure to send us your comments.  We value your comments, and they are the bases for further improving the quality of the Program.  To say that a well-organizing people in today's Ethiopia is an understatement.

Program items include news, commentaries, feature articles on major issues, interviews, poems, and views from listeners.

Please support the Program with financial contributions.  Make your contributions payable to "Finote Democracy".  The help is needed to ensure the continuity of the program, and its ongoing improvement.  The radio is in fact serving as the voice of the voiceless.  Since its assumption of political power,  TPLF has monopolized all media, and Finote Democracy is one of the few voices that are available to our people who have it up to the neck at the nauseating regime propaganda.
